Somewhere in your head is a version of "ready" that has more time, more money, more confidence, and a lot less fear than you currently have. Here's the uncomfortable truth: that version of you doesn't exist, and waiting for them to show up is how years quietly disappear.

Nobody feels ready to send the first message, post the first video, submit the first application, or open the first gym door. Readiness isn't a feeling that arrives before action — it's a byproduct of having already started. The confidence you're waiting for is on the other side of the thing you're avoiding, not the front of it.

Perfectionism is just fear wearing a work uniform. It looks like high standards, but it usually just means you get to avoid the vulnerable, embarrassing, uncertain part of actually trying — while still feeling productive because you're "preparing." Research isn't the same as starting. Planning isn't the same as doing.

You don't need the perfect plan, the perfect moment, or the perfect version of yourself. You need a rough draft, a first rep, an ugly first attempt that you're allowed to improve later. Done badly and started today beats perfect and started never, every single time.

Whatever you've been circling for months: start it today, badly, on purpose. Ready was never going to show up first.
